Partying and Destroying with Party Favor

Last Wednesday, in a hole-in-the-wall gem located on the corner of La Brea and Sunset, Party Favor threw a one-of-a-kind album release party for his new project ‘Party and Destroy.’ Mad Decent, Space Yacht, and Party Favor collaborated in making all the aspects of this event come together, and be destroyed… literally.

As soon as I walked into the event, I was greeted and escorted back to the break room. However, this wasn’t a typical resting place for artists; it was quite literally a room in which you could put on a HAZMAT suit and smash TVs, chairs, and other inanimate objects. I signed a waiver, and smashed away.

Aside from that unique and exhilarating feature of the event, the remainder of the night went smashingly as well. Artists such as Jauz, Valentino Khan, Brillz, Wax Motif, and no other than Party Favor, got a chance to show their faces and play some jams. At the beginning of the night, the vibe of the crowd was chill, but as the night went on, people were throwing around giant beach balls and were putting their paper Party Favor masks on.

Besides being able to swing a bat at objects and being able to see some great artists perform, one of my favorite aspects of this event was the freedom of everyone in the crowd to go backstage. There were no bulky security guards, no exclusivity. Fans could go up to artists, greet them, and take photos. This allowed the event to be more intimate and exceptional than any other event I have gone to.

Party and Destroy’s event planning was phenomenal, and the music was first-rate. If you haven’t checked out Party Favor’s new album, I highly recommend you do yourself a favor, listen to it now, and definitely play it at the next party you go to.
