Whilst Trance music began as a very much progressive movement, the last couple of years have seen a huge surge in the amount of electro crossover. With artists like W&W championing the sound, trance producers and labels alike have begun to fall plague to this hard-style influenced, big room sound that is now dominating festival main stage's. Many see this as a bad thing, with labels such as Armada traditionally showcasing music from the Trance end of the spectrum, and feel the commercialization of dance music over the past few years is ruining creativity throughout the genres. Despite this, I am here with an electro track, previewed today by W&W's Mainstage music label, that I am certainly not complaining about. The whole idea of big room, single chord drops has been totally abused as of late with very little creativity, however Rick Mitchell's Rockin' Steady actually provides a slight breath of fresh air, whilst maintaining the characteristics of jump up festival electro. Due for release on Beatport on the 7th of October, make sure you check this out as it is absolutely huge!
