Every year the same holds true, Christmas, New Year, and the ASOT Year Mix. None of those three is any less relevant than the others! For those who don't know, the ASOT year mix is a huge compilation that spans a year of dance-floor destroying and spine-tingling all over the world from the most euphoric of genres. The mix has always comprised favourites from the radio show, and those tracks that maybe didn't mean so much on radio airwaves but that really came into their own on the dance floors.

Perhaps what makes this years mix so special is the really promising indications that the purer and faster Trance sound that has moved out of the spotlight in recent years is returning to share play time with the slower more progressive sound that has dominated recently; a quick look at the track list shows a really great array of Trance tracks that shed a really good light on the health of the scene at the moment. With over 100 songs in this compilation, mixed brilliantly by the one and only AVB, there really is no reason not to get this compilation. Even those of you who may have never dwelled into trance I implore to listen to this!

I'm here this freezing British evening with a truly sensational take on the Intense classic 'Love Never Came' by Armin Van Buuren. Armin's 'More Intense' album has definitely been something to get excited about for Trance fans, offering many purists true Trance takes on some of the more Progressive Housey tracks of his hit album. W&W take Richard Bedford's beautifully rich vocals, and pair them with a clanging synth sound that I have really grown to love (showcased in tracks such as 'Character' by Mark Sixma). Others may argue, but I really do think this version completely obliterates the original, finding a perfect balance between Armin's knack for harmony, alongside W&W's harsher synth sound. I for one, am thrilled to see W&W return to their Trance routes, especially since their recent spew of big room tracks haven't quite done it for me! Manchester's super club 'The Warehouse Project' has had a whole host of hype surrounding it, making a big name for itself across the UK and beyond... Daily Beat decided to find out what a night inside the ex-brewery holds for a clubber.

When first entering the Warehouse walls, one can't help but be shocked by the sheer size of the venue. Even with a capacity for 5000 people, the grand scale of things makes finding space to dance easy, with a collection of Funktion-One sound systems providing floor shaking bass, and crisp sounding trebles. Daily Beat first checked out one of the smaller rooms, and we were met with industrial, plastic strip doors, which really helped add to the Warehouse feel of the venue. Estonian Beatservice played an absolutely cracking set, with huge sing along moments when he dropped his remix of Nothing Without Me by Markus Schulz, a personal highlight for me.

Originally made famous through his feature on Porter Robinson's Spitfire EP a few years ago, Mikkas bursted onto the scene with a unique glitchy electro house style ('complextro') that truly wowed the dance music community. His breakout single with the stunning vocals of Amba Shepherd, Mikkas has truly risen to new heights in the growing dance music world. His latest remix comes from Armin van Buuren's Intense that features the lovely vocals of Cindy Alma. Beautiful Life brings just what we thought it would; an original trance feel spun to fit Mikkas' progressive electro style. Enjoy this one on a beautiful Sunday evening!
