Los Angeles based producer Jauz (born Sam Vogel) is on a hot streak. His recent song “Feel The Volume” received a tremendously positive response and earned a coveted release on Mad Decent. Not to mention, two of his tracks are featured on Jack U’s debut Diplo and Friends Mix. Just yesterday, though, he dropped a fresh new bootleg remix of “CoCo” by O.T. Genasis, and it has racked up close to 30,000 plays in one day.
Jauz is capitalizing on the rise in popularity of Deep House. He effortlessly blends a unique, aggressive sound with groovy bass lines that are characteristic of the genre. As a result, he is earning a loyal fan base of listeners who are keen to the new popular sound, but demand a bit more wub in their music. Just like Carnage and his Chipotle Gang, these devout fans are identified by Sam as the Sharksquad.
He’s not slowing down, either. As an official part of the Buygore family, he recently teased a collaboration with label-head Borgore called “Lindsey Lohan.” He also subtly announced on Twitter that his very own Diplo and Friends mix is premiering on December 12th. Considering the original mix of “CoCo” has climbed up to #38 on the Billboard Hot 100, the Sharksquad is about see a huge increase in membership. Check out our exclusive interview with Jauz from September, and then head over to his Soundcloud to grab your free download.
