Official Ultra Phase One Lineup Confirms Rumors

An image surfaced on the internet about a week ago featuring an all-star lineup for Ultra Music Festival 2015. The rumored phase one flyer was so astonishing that usual headliners (such as Zeds Dead and Blasterjaxx) were only seen in the small print near the bottom. While fans have come to expect nothing less from Ultra, this year's lineup had even more genre diversity than years past. An official phase one lineup was released today, and it undoubtedly surpassed the expectations set by the rumors.

Many Ultra mainstays (such as Avicii, Tiesto, and Aoki) were no shocker to EDM fans; these mainstream heavyweights have headlined the event for years. The addition of talented acts such as Porter Robinson, Netsky, and even Royksopp on the rumored lineup had me both excited and skeptical. Luckily, the official release confirmed these astonishing rumors. Ultra has clearly stepped its game up since last years controversy, when a security guard was trampled by patrons. The addition of artists like Odesza, Yellow Claw, and Bassnectar show a movement toward genre diversity on mainstages. While bigroom house artists such as the duo of Axwell and Ingrosso consistently provide energy driven sets, its refreshing to see genres such as trap and dubstep get mainstream burn at America's EDM Superbowl.  Here's to hoping the phase two lineup is just as phenomenal.
