So as you know I am quite a competitive person and as a result I love to show the US every now and then just how talented some of artists that the UK churn out really are. Today we head north to the lonely, dark and damp location of Scotland. You may be familiar with the Loch Ness Monster. "The Loch Ness Monster (Scottish Gaelic: Niseag) is a cryptid that is reputed to inhabit Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands. It is similar to other supposed lake monsters in Scotland and elsewhere, though its description varies from one account to the next. Popular interest and belief in the animal has varied since it was brought to the world's attention in 1933. Evidence of its existence is anecdotal, with minimal and much-disputed photographic material and sonar readings." Despite this I find myself thinking that we have already found ourselves the monster and we have as much photographic evidence as we want. Lets look back at one of the first posts that I ever did for Daily Beat back in November. I am talking about release of Chris Elliott's aka Nom De Strip's 'Give It To Me' which was released on Rising Music. This was an extremely funky piece from Chris with that heavy electro I so dearly love. Today i bring you an assortment of tracks from Nom de Strip, all of which are going to blow you away. First off, there’s his “Clouds EP” which has been released in two seperate parts, one in February and the other one as recent as yesterday. I decided to include Volume 1 of the EP as I feel like it’s one of this year’s finest pieces of electro house so far. It consists of three tracks, “Pulse”, “Counting Sheep” and “Clouds”. Each of them is a Class 1 banger and you should listen to all of them. On repeat. Then, there’s “Seesaw”, taken from the freshly released Volume 2 of his Clouds EP. On the second volume, Elliott steers away from his purist electro house approach and tries out something more techy and experimental. The result: SEESAW! A great group of electro tracks here people.
