Nicole Moudaber's "Silent Sigh" EP Shines in More Ways Than One

The MOOD Records founder is unstoppable. Only a few months after her epochal Breed EP collaboration with Skin of Skunk Anansie, Nicole Moudaber has released Silent Sigh, her first full-length solo EP in several months. The EP is available exclusively on Beatport.

Silent Sigh begins with its title track, a dusty whisper of hi-hats and kicks. Gradually building to a clean climax, "Silent Sigh" relies solely on a punching bassline to carry you through its eight minutes. With minimal embellishments, the track appropriately mimics a familiar, metallic trip through the musician's mind. "Move a Little Closer" follows with a deeper sense of intimacy, conjuring a cooler atmosphere. Vocal seduction is at its finest as sultry samples prime you for layers upon layers of space-age synths. The first two tracks are rightfully topped off with "More Ways Than One," a punchy dose of techno that is sure to be an anthem at upcoming Awakenings NYC. Simple yet complex, and as melodic as it is dark, "More Ways Than One" perfectly exemplifies Nicole's unmatched skill for quality production.

Regardless of the fact that 2016 has barely swung by, Nicole - who has just passed her race driver test, according to her Soundcloud page for Silent Sigh - is already going full-throttle. The jet-setter went straight from ringing in New Year's Eve at Heart Nightclub in Miami to Stereo Montreal, before a high-energy stint at Playa del Carmen, Mexico, for the ten-day BPM Festival.

What's next for the electronic empress? On February 14th, Nicole will make history as part of the US debut of Awakenings, right in the heart of New York. She'll play back-to-back with Victor Calderone as the event takes over Hammerstein Ballroom. Afterward, she'll hit Shrine Nightclub in Connecticut, Rumor Nightclub in Philadelphia, and Electric Daisy Carnival Mexico. Miami Music Week in March is on her radar as well; look out for more information on her annual MoodDAY and MoodNIGHT events. And finally, Nicole will return to the California desert in April for Coachella, where she will perform with Skin.
