It’s time to get “in the mood.” To put it plainly, if you weren’t at Mysteryland or Movement this past Memorial Day Weekend, you missed out on a good show thrown by none other than the de facto leading lady of techno and house, Nicole Moudaber. For two hours, we were mesmerized into a mindless haze, with none other than those infectiously beat-driven tracks to keep us moving. Besides recording dozens of afterparty-worthy podcasts playfully dubbed “In the Mood,” her 2015 track record includes a few journeys across North America with stints at The BPM Festival, MoodDAY at Miami Music Week (which viewers around the world watched live on the web), and right here in Brooklyn at Output. To top of all that, she’s just joined the Circo Loco family for the upcoming Ibiza party season. These accomplishments have all built up to give Nicole a momentous first half of the year.
Nicole Moudaber is surely on her way to becoming an electronic music legend, a status that Victor Calderone has held for more than two decades. Throughout his career, he’s shared his studio with established superstars like Madonna and Beyoncé, as well as fellow DJs Adam Beyer, Paco Osuna, and Moudaber herself. The two consider themselves to be “natural studio partners,” and their collaborative release on Drumcode, DC098, proves that there is a tougher side to the duo that is seldom seen.
Catch Nicole Moudaber and Victor Calderone together this Sunday, June 7, 2015, at Avenue Beach Club in Long Branch, New Jersey! Purchase tickets here.
