NGHTMRE - Street (NIGHTOWLS x Jameston Thieves Remix)

July 29, 2015 -

NGHTMRE recently destroyed your idea of trap music with his release of Street on Mad Decent's Jeffrees. With just about 2 weeks on its release we already have an equally terrifying rework by the house lords known as NIGHTOWLS and Jameston Thieves. After success with their last track Closer, on Buygore, these guys took on another collaboration for this remix and we couldn't be more impress with the outcome.

The song is introduced with a Nightbass UK garage style beat that soon drifts into a dreamy buildup. The climax of the drop unexpectedly cuts in and out which then falls into bouncy swing, heavily gated and full of tricky subtlety. It carries an almost playful vibe that brings a new feel to what was originally a dark half-time track.

The piece progresses with melting sound design and an unexpected song structure. They somehow manage to create something that sounds experimental yet is arranged well enough to welcome any DJ to try it out in their sets.

Both NIGHTOWLS and Jameston Thieves easily prove their abilities as music producers with this release and the only thing we can hope for now is that they continue to drop bombs like this every once in awhile.
