[Free DL] NIGHTOWLS & SAM F - Nap In The Club (Fransis Derelle & Convex Remix)

October 22, 2015 -

Matt Haun

NIGHTOWLS have become a major force in the LA bass house movement over the past year. Remix stems were released for their latest original “Nap In The Club”, an expectedly filthy collab with fellow Angelino SAM F. This has allowed for a good handful of unofficial reworks, and the most recent future bass edit has made its way into our “Hansel” playlists.

Fransis Derelle and Convex have combined their super-sized synth skills to produce a tempo changing future/trap-fusion flip of NITC, and boy is it tasty. The track begins with a rehearsing of the original’s characteristic lyrics, set against a reverberant background of atmospheric sound. After an appropriate amount of vocal recitations, the tune builds into a drop of bright chord-stacks that will wobble a smile right onto your face. Though the groove rests largely in a halftime feel, there are short turnaround phrases that pay homage to the four-on-the-floor beat of the original. However, as suggested before with the mention of a tempo change, the first drop does not fully reveal all that this dynamic remix has to offer. The mid-song break grants a brief respite in energy, but only to then speed up into a trappy amalgam of vocal chops and crunchy bass. Hearing this track live would definitely have us far from asleep on the dance floor.

This genre-hybrid production is just one awesome example of the reworks that “Nap In The Club” has inspired. The Derelle x Convex remix is available gratis on Filthy Drops, so go grab your free download now!
