Mind Cntrl - You (Exclusive Premiere)

October 21, 2015 -

Louis Garcia

Uprise Music is proud to bring you another dose of melting bass house with Mind Cntrl's You. This Milwaukee based producer has already made a roar in the scene by catching the attention of artists such as Skrillex, Kaskade, Ferry Corsten, and Chuckie. After some heavy bootlegs plus a few releases on Nextgen Records, Audophile Records, and Tommie Sunshine’s highly coveted label Brooklyn Fire, it is clear that Mind Cntrl is not slowing down anytime soon.

Last time we heard from the producer was through his gut wrenching collaboration with Dirty Doses on Basscvlt, but this time around he's hit home with a flaming release on Uprise Music.

You encompasses the feel of futuristic UK garage house in its intro with tight jackin beats and reverb drenched bass hits. The piece sticks out to us with its old-school rave house vocal samples and anthemic piano chord hits. It almost has a progressive house feel that slowly sinks into chaos with the chromatically descending bass line.

We're soon hit with a monstrous drop that demonstrate's Mind Cntrl's ridiculous sound design capabilities. The garage house rhythms are now driven by a hectic and playful bass line that bangs with a quick-changing maximalist dubstep approach. The combination of filthy bass house and melodic transitions makes this an ideal club track for those looking to pick up the pace in a set. The second drop keeps our interest with a similar bass line that hits us with halftime drums, coming across as a hybrid between dubstep and trap. The range of ideas sprinkled throughout this four minute track generates another flawless release for Mind Cntrl and Uprise Music.

Tracks like this are what is keeping our attention on the genre known as bass house. The ability to combine complex bass music with underground deep house is something still relatively new to EDM and it's always great to see new artists and labels pushing genre benders like this.

Uprise Music jumped to the top of our radar with their release of Ayo Alex's Want It featuring Juicy J, an absolute must for any future house set. Their efforts to support killers such as Jameston Thieves, Dirty Doses, Landis LaPace, and other bass house visionaries automatically make them our go-to for the latest in breakthrough club music.
