Linkin Park x Steve Aoki - A Light That Never Comes (Matt Dash Bootleg) [DAILY BEAT EXCLUSIVE]

December 13, 2013 -

Ryan Farber

Back in October, we all remember the release of a collaboration between rock titans Linkin Park and hype-man producer/DJ Steve Aoki. Complete with all of the melodic qualities and high energy that Aoki is known to provide, the original track lived up to the signature sound of Shinoda, Chester, and the crew. I have to admit however that I personally wasn't the largest fan of the song. A fan of Linkin Park since I was in my preteen years, I felt as though the track was too mainstream/pop-EDM for what I was used to, both for the band and for the producer.

This bootleg dispelled all of my previous shortcomings about this track. Up and comer Matt Dash takes the track and pulls a complete redux, stripping the song to its core and providing his own progressions. This shotgun release features both the vocal edit and a dub/instrumental version, which helps a listener realize the true unique dynamics of this track. This is one you're going to want to have, believe me.
