Yesterday, Lightning in a Bottle has revealed the complete lineup for its 2020 return to Buena Vista Lake in Southern California over Memorial Day Weekend, May 20-25. These wide-reaching additions will soundtrack the diverse musical playgrounds of The Stacks, CTRL-Z, Compass and The Grand Artique.

The Stacks made its debut at LIB last year and stunned the bass-loving community both in attendance and from afar. 2020 will see The Stacks continue its dedication to raw, emerging, experimental bass with a mix of rising stars and veterans alike . This year’s lineup features everything from left-field experimental, drum and bass, psytrance, dubstep and more, including a revered DnB throwdown from Justin Martin plus sets from Joe Kay of Soulection, Spektrum, Kraddy, Thelem, Freddy Todd, SFAM, Soulacybin, Mystic Grizzly and more.

CTRL-Z (FKA the Favela Stage) has been rebranded into a cosmic launch pad, an intergalactic playground, and the place to be at this year’s Lightning in a Bottle. A new house and techno homebase for daytime enthusiasts and night owls alike, the intricate CTRL-Z structure will be built from recycled space junk and will give festival-goers endless turrets and nooks to explore. CTRL-Z will play host to underground house and techno favorites like Holmar, Papa Lu, Jonnie King, SAAND, Jamie Schwabl and Claudius Raphael to name a few.

Known for its tantalizing educational programming by day, The Compass transforms into an eclectic vortex of musical genres by night. Allow The Compass to continue expanding your mind well into the evening with its diverse, genre-bending, international artist roster that ebbs and flows between hip-hop and deep house, spoken word and downtempo, global bass and more. Expect a shaking performance from viral hip-hop sensation Chika, acoustic melancholy sonics from live quartet Stavroz and tones Afrofuturism from OSHUN. The lineup extends further with the links of 29Palms, SIMRIT, The Human Experience, SABO and Andre Power of Soulection.

Last but not least, LIB has revealed the multifaceted performers of The Grand Artique, the hidden vintage portal of Lightning in a Bottle that transports festival-goers to a seemingly simpler time, and into the legendary home of Frontierville. With its wild west intimacies, swinging saloon and general store, The Grand Artique plays host to intriguing programming that lasts long into the early hours of the morning. Those that seek it will find blossoming artists such as the singular black-roots, blues-rock songwriter Fantastic Negrito, hypnotic dance music from MY BABY, southern-gothic, psycho-blues from Lincoln Durham, a global voyage from SOFAZ, Buyepongo, Ezra Bell, High Step Society and many more.

Lightning in a Bottle is ready to return home to the beautiful shores of Buena Vista Lake in Southern California and reclaim its traditional Memorial Weekend date – May 20-25 2020. Buena Vista Lake immediately brought comfort and familiarity to the LIB community thanks to its swim-friendly waters, abundant grassy topography and thick shade trees. 2020 attendees will once again be able to expect the experience of a lifetime guided by forward-thinking musical curation, immersive art installations, and cause-driven educational programming that has come to define Lightning in a Bottle.
