Lido Unleashes "I Love You Too (The Remixes)" EP

October 27, 2014 -

A couple of weeks back, Lido showed us the Hoodboi remix of, "I Love You," one of the stand out tracks on the similarly dubbed EP, now he's released an entire remix EP, I Love You Too. Featuring reworks by Obey City, Para One, HeavyxMellow, Lindsay Lowend and the previously mentioned Hoodboi track, the remixes stand tall against the already beautifully crafted originals.

Hoodboi's remix of, "I Love You" brings the original to a new place, by replacing the funk slapping bass lines with Chicago influenced chops, although it retains the chaotic flutter of the chorus. "I Love You Too," is heavily driven by a mix of electro and future bass, but in the remix by Obey City it's thrown through a Hot Tub Time Machine, with synths that reminisce on 80's pop, funk and R&B.

"Money," which is a song that's typically regarded as a banger, is brought back with Para One, mixing it with a lounge house kind of feel, no need to worry though, he leaves plenty of room to dance but keeps you from losing your mind. HeavyxMellow does exactly what his name implies, bringing a heavy yet mellow tone to, "Lost," which is usually reserved for waking up a crowd. The energy is sucked out of this track and gets replaced with elegant piano and guitar parts making it a great slow jam. Linsday Lowend's, "Money" is also pretty dope. He takes the tempo of Para One's mix and brought it back even further with his signature 'neon music' sound that dives in and out of glitch and hip hop influences and he threw in a sensual horn part as well adding a jazz aesthetic.
