This morning a completely random series of events led to me discovering this up and coming DJ's Soundcloud profile, and by god was I impressed. Whilst listening to Leukas' track The Forest I really started to remember what had got me into progressive house a few years back. The industry has recently become saturated with very formulaic music which has totally ceased to surprise me, and artists have ceased to be artistic. However when I first heard this I was so blown away by the intricate detail in the production, with so many different musical ideas being introduced throughout the track. It really is so fresh to hear a fantastic, developed piece of music, rather than a single theme which fails to engage the listener.
Hailing from Sydney, Australia, Luke Samuèl's sound seems to hail back to the golden era of progressive house, right before the huge EDM boom. Combining the beauty of a Deadmau5 or Eric Prydz track, with the subtly of deeper progressive house artists such as Mossy or Mango.
