Kate Boy - Self Control (Christian Rich Rework)

January 6, 2015 -

Christian Rich is a name you may not recognize now, but you have certainly heard their music. Twin brothers Taiwko and Kehinde Hassan make up the Los Angeles based producer/DJ duo, formed in 2008. They've produced for a #1 album (or three) and have worked with the likes of Drake, Earl Sweatshirt, and Childish Gambino. To supplement their hip-hop roots, Christian Rich are making inroads into the EDM circuit including collaborations with Grandtheft and Paper Diamond in 2013.

"Self Control" is the third and latest release in an excellent series of reworks Christian Rich has started on Soundcloud. This time they take on IAMSOUND's Swedish pop group Kate Boy for a rework very much informed by the current class of acclaimed electronic producers like Cashmere Cat and Lido. What separates Christian Rich from the bubble-dropping, synth-happy masses of Soundcloud acts is their attention to design and detail. Call it whatever genre you want, but these two know their way around a DAW and a mixing board. Stream "Self Control" below and stay posted for more music from Christian Rich in 2015 as they prep a debut full-length album.
