Say what you want about Kanye West, but it’s hard to deny his artistic vision. And in this case his artistic vision involves a pack of galloping horses, stock footage of Western landscapes, and a topless Kim Kardashian straddling Ye on a motorcycle, all of which can be seen in the music video for his latest single “Bound 2,” off the album Yeezus. Kanye premiered the video on The Ellen Show earlier this morning, followed by Kim posting an uncensored version to her YouTube account just a few hours later.
I honestly don’t know what to make of this video. Is it heartfelt and sincere or cringeworthy? Nick Knight was brought in as the director, known for his work with Alexander McQueen, Lady Gaga, and Kate Moss as a British fashion photographer. For all of those high-end names and brands, the “Bound 2” music video seems awfully watered down and simplistic. But either way, hate him or love him, Kanye West always seems to find a way to penetrate the public consciousness.
