As entrepreneurs continue to create new ways of doing business in the ever-so competitive music and events landscape, news ideas are beginning to churn out in making the process of bringing your favorite artist to your hometown or city even easier. Introducing, Tunetap; a Cornell University based startup that gives fans the power to influence where and when their favorite artists will perform. Not only does Tunetap put the power in the hands of loyal fans, but also allows artists, venues and promoters put on more shows without monetary risk. Their mission is to create a live music industry that works better for everyone.
"At Tunetap, we know it’s difficult to set up a show or a tour. We’re here to make it easy," says Robert Robertson III of the startup. Tunetap lets you petition your favorite artists to play a show in your community. If the petition gets enough votes to be confirmed by the artist, you can snag advanced tickets and help make it happen. Artists can fund their next show by pre-selling tickets on Tunetap to determine demand and cover expenses. They can play in familiar venues or in new cities around the world, from backyard gigs to world-class stages. we are working with artists, venues, promoters and fans, to cut out risk, fill stages, and break down barriers so they can make more music everywhere!
No further information is given about the first show petition, but expect to see plenty shows being campaigned for this fall, as thousands of students head back to college.
