On August 4th, 2013, Governor’s Island is undergoing a scheduled infestation courtesy of RPM, Coast II Coast, and Dim Mak! World renowned, iconic and celebrated musical pioneers INFECTED MUSHROOM, will bring their LIVE show across the ferry and venture across the sea to Governor’s Island.
There, surrounded by water and the greatest view of the skyline, is NYC’s most versatile and unique waterfront venue: Gov’Nors Beach Club. This 20,000 square foot facility is equipped with all you need for a fantastic time!
Like mold spores, Infected Mushroom- in sound and spirit- is omnipresent. This power will inevitably cause Governor’s Island, and all who inhabit it, to become #infected by the cross-genred, psychedelic, highly melodic, and highly stimulating sounds and visuals of Israeli born super stars, Infected Mushroom!
Their music features many long songs with complex, hypnotizing arrangements reminiscent to those of the greatest rock ballads. Their songs are formed on the basis of complex layered melodies and trippy soundscapes. Their sounds cover the entire sonic range with drum and bass influenced beats, smooth and deep chordal progressions, modal harmonies, and synth sounds that can only be found within the depths of the human psyche. The guitar, whether live or synth based, registers within the listener somewhere deep in the soul, between asleep and awake in the meta-conscious mind.
This sound is what became known as Psychedelic Trance- and the world credit’s it’s creation to Infected Mushroom.
The infection started spreading almost 20 years ago when IM first stepped into the scene. Their sound was, and still is, unlike anything the world has heard before.
Since then, they have released countless albums and EPs, and have been ranked by the world as one of the “Top 10 DJ’s” multiple times!
Infected Mushroom is particularly known for staying relevant within the constantly changing music scene. Unusually, their constant relevance was accomplished because group ignores current trends and continues to make the music of their soul. This mindset is why each of their 8 albums and 16 EPs is characterized by different overarching elements- thus blurring and often erasing the traditional boarders of genres.
