What up Daily-Beat readers! It's been a while since I've written a proper article. I'm middle of an intense midterm season here at USC. However, I could not pass up on an opportunity to get something off my chest.
I'm gonna try to keep this as short and sweet as possible.
As you may or may not know, Lil Wayne's latest album, I Am Not A Human Being II dropped a couple of days ago. Let start by saying that if you are a fan of Lil Wayne, a fan of this album, know Lil Wayne personally, or even just so happen to be Lil Wayne, do not read on any further. Your feelings will get hurt. Now that we got that out of the way, let me get this off my chest...
After listening to IANAHB II in its entirety 3 times, I am ready to make this declaration: I Am Not A Human Being II is the worst hip-hop album that I've ever heard. This isn't hyperbole. This isn't an exaggeration. This is fact. IANAHB II is 100% horseshit. If I can quote my dad it's "coonery at its finest." Let say that I've never, ever been a fan of Lil Wayne or his music (if you wanna call it that) and you'll find none of his albums in my iTunes library. Even when he was on top of the hip-hop world 5 years ago, I wasn't feeling him, so some may say I'm biased. In fact, I'll be honest and say that I pretty much dislike almost everything about him. However, no one with a functioning eardrum can defend the hot garbage Weezy has released on IANAHB II. I'll admit that Lil Wayne has impressed me a couple of times with some of his verses on a couple of songs in the past, however the rhymes on IANAHB II are the epitome of wack. Some of the things that this fool says on this album are just absurd. I know that not everyone can be Rakim...but damn, son, this shit is foul! The fact that Wayne thought that I, a hip-hop fan, would be impressed by his lyrics is an insult to my intelligence. Have you ever heard the expression "real recognize real?" Well, horseshit recognize horseshit becacuse Soulja Boy is featured on IANAHB II not just once, but twice. The two people in hip-hop I hate the most on the same track...TWICE. I thought that Weezy could pull off having someone like Kanye West or Jay-Z dropping a verse or two on a track...NOPE! He has to get Soulja Boy, who's given the world such poetic lines such as "Yoooooouuuuuuuuu!" and "Ya Bitch, Ya!" C'mon man...that's despicable. The production on IANAHB II sucks just as hard as the lyricism. It's just your typical mainstream, simplistic bullshit.
Let me wrap things up by asking anyone in law enforcement who may be reading this to please arrest Lil Wayne and lock him up somewhere down south where they can give his no-talent, tattooed ass the electric chair for releasing IANAHB II. Also, every single person involved in the production of this album should be banned from making music for eternity. IANAHB II is a slap in the face to not only hip-hop, but all good music. It took 4 hours of listening to Coltrane, Hendrix, The Roots, and Miles Davis to rid my ears of this trash. I think Weezy's recent seizure was God's way of saying "Nigga, you need to stop." What pisses me off the most is that this horseshit will sell millions.
RIP hip-hop. It was nice knowing ya.
