"A kid from a council estate who became the world's hottest house star." These words by Mixmag at the beginning of the year were part of a feature on the Yorkshireman's meteoric rise to one of the most sought after DJ's in the world. Only in 2011 was Hot Since 82's breakthrough track 'Let it Ride' released on Noir's label, and since then the Northerner has been churning out quality releases of an amazing consistency. His name has become a regular on festival and superclub lineups and at this rate his exponential rise in popularity is certain to continue, with tours in South America and the US. His latest track 'Womb' is a teaser to his upcoming mix album and what an amazing production it is.
Beginning with an eerie, progressive opening section, the track slowly and powerfully builds up momentum with spacey keys and delirious background voices accompanying a melodic beat. In typical Hot Since 82 style the track drops into a heavy, dark, industrial and muscular middle section. The second drop is much of the same with added unique production skills and incredible attention to detail throughout. Overall an unbelievable track by one of the most in-form and consistent producers of late. Keep an eye out for his new mix album coming soon on Knee Deep in Sound.
