Here's one for all of you fans of 2013's summer hit, "Safe and Sound" by Capital Cities. This track, entitled "History" comes from Ryan Merchant of Capital Cities and Spencer Ludwig (the famous trumpet on the band's summer hit) AND is co-produced by RAC (of "Cheap Sunglasses" fame, not to mention the creator of some beautiful remixes). History, the name of track and the band, is the newest side project for Ryan Merchant and judging by this piece, it sounds like History is in the same musical realm as Capital Cities, just with more playful funk and less commercial vibes (the guys from Capital Cities DID formerly write jingles after all). "History" features vocals from Merchant and Ludwig, as well as a sweeping trumpet solo from Ludwig, and is a track that deftly moves between jovial and reflective. It is also just a downright fun jam. Look for this one to pop up in the summer and keep tabs on History as they keep releasing more tracks.
