Hip-Hop Highlight: Housewife

It's been a while since I've shared my ear candy with everyone. Very selfish of me, I agree. But a big reason for this is my renewed love for all the bump and grind 'Ghetto Musick' that anyone can get into. To start of my segment i'll take you back to 2001, er, 1999, when Dr. Dre dropped his massive album, '2001.'

Housewife defines the west coast G-funk production that Dre helped blow up in the 90's, with its thick bassline, funky guitar picking, and smooth synth leads over a Snoop Dogg / Kurupt driven chorus. 2001 is a staple album in any rap collection, and almost 15 years later artists are still heavily inspired by it and strive to put out an album that can even be talked about in the same sentence.

Enjoy this week's hip hop highlight and start building up that rap playlist, there's more where this came from.
