graves - Heretic

July 26, 2016 -

Jacob Piotrowski

Hawaiian producer graves has been out on the scene for quite some time now consistently putting out high quality records including a number of collaborations featuring artists like Rickyxsan, MYRNE, and ASKA. In a time where trap music has become far too formulaic and predictable, graves makes sure to showcase his unique style that is hard and gritty yet very danceable at the same time. graves' most recent release Heretic on NEST HQ is no exception to this pattern. Starting out with a very quiet and atmospheric intro, Heretic  starts building up energy as the chopped up vocals begin blending with a mind bending combination of textures that turns into a dirty lead along with a massive bass line that is guaranteed to destroy the dance floor. If you enjoyed this track be sure to check out his collaboration with Rickyxsan The Plague and anything else that graves has put out on his Soundcloud. Also, if you are in SoCal this weekend, make sure you catch graves' set at HARD Summer's Purple Stage alongside huge acts like Mr. Carmack and Dizzee Rascal. Cop your tickets here if you haven't already.
