Ghostface Killah & BADBADNOTGOOD - Six Degrees (ft. Danny Brown)

May 27, 2014 -

Dominick Knowles

Ghostface Killah and Danny Brown just dropped their first collaboration with jazz radicals BADBADNOTGOOD, "Six Degrees." The groove is subtly relentless, with the kind of responsiveness unique to a live backing band. BBNG's restraint is a perfect counterpoint to Ghostface & Danny Brown's aggression:  Ghostface's flow recalls DOOM's ragged, early material, while Danny Brown's vocal acrobatics punctuate the offbeats. It's a rare instance of two talented rappers supported by great musicians, and their synergy is unmistakable. Well worth repeated listens.
