Frank Ocean is one of the best up-and-coming artists in the game right now. You can't really compare his style to anyone else -- he has a classic voice for R&B (and his very first mixtape had quite a fundamental R&B sound), but as he continues producing more and more music, it's clear to see that he's something else. On top of that, he KNOWS he's something else. He knows he's the shit but somehow he doesn't come off as arrogant.
If you don't know much about Mr. Ocean, there's a telling New York Times article called 'Frank Ocean Can Fly' that I highly suggest checking out. If you are a big Frank fan, I'm sure you have his latest mixtape Channel Orange on your iPod and have been fluctuating among favorite songs since its release. Well, I've got a new one to throw at you: 'Eyes Like Sky.' This track was originally supposed to appear on Channel Orange, but Frank apparently decided it wasn't worthy. Personally, I like it even more than a few of the mixtape's bigger hits. But I do understand why it didn't make the cut: it doesn't have the same eclectic vibe that a lot of Channel Orange's songs do. It has a more classic R&B sound to it. Of course, I'm not complaining -- I love everything Frank Ocean. Enjoy, ya'll.
