Everydayz & Phazz - Almeria 2.0 EP

July 3, 2016 -

Daily Beat Staff

Last year Everydayz and Phazz stunned our ears with the release of their amazing “Almeria” LP. With Phazz’ masterful melodies and Everydayz’ bold beats the title track quickly put these guys on the map in the music scene. Now they’re back to take on the tune a second time, with a little help from some friends of course. Krystle Warren, Gaël Rakotondrabe, and 20syl each throw their own unique flair into the mix to make for an eclectic package of three new re-imaginations of the tune.

In his version, Warren drops some superb vocals that, with the help of Everydayz & Phazz, sound as if they’ve traveled directly from the spirit realm. Gaël Rakotondrabe keeps it classy with an elegant, all-piano cover. And the legendary 20syl makes an appearance, taking a chance to slow things down and turn the track into a bumping, funk filled tune. If you dug the original “Almeria” you’ll definitely find something you like among these renditions. Give them a listen here and let us know which one you’re feeling the most.

UPDATE: These guys have just dropped a sweet new video to go along with Krystle Warren's track. It features cheerleaders dealing with the tough concepts of ego affiliation and life after death. So, if you're into that sort of thing definitely check it out here:
