Another night well spent at The Loft in Minneapolis as we brought in the night with the always entertaining Sound Remedy! I was pretty shocked to see that the usually more progressive house promoters, Sound In Motion, were bringing in such a "dubby" act. But, hats off to you guys because this was an awesome night!
As always, I am beyond entertained with the crowds that these more Dubstep heavy shows bring out, especially in Minnesota. New York is one thing, but to see all these different groups of people coming together in a place like Minneapolis makes me ridiculously happy.
If you don't know, Minneapolis is one of the Dubstep meccas. The scene has always been very predominate here when it comes to electronic music, so to see all of these different promoters supporting it is really awesome, again, nicely done SIMs!
So the night started with a bunch of local acts, as always everyone seriously brings their all when it comes to these shows. One of my personal Minnesota favorites played, Jack Trash, who just somehow manages to kill it at every show he plays at no matter the genre. Then it was onto the main act, Sound Remedy!
If you haven't heard Sound Remedy's remix of Hanging On by Ellie Goulding I HIGHLY suggest you go do so. When he dropped it live, my heart sank a little, it was like watching a Disney movie, holding back that one tear so no one made fun of you. That's how I would describe the whole show, it was like pulling on your heart strings consistently but somehow he manages to pull you in all the right directions at the right time making a Sound Remedy set not only 100% captivating but an all around amazing experience.
Thank you for reminding me how amazing Dubstep can be!
