You know I am not much of a deep house fan, though all of my friends are now all about it, I just have never been able to get into it. I had been anticipating this EDX show for sometime now. At first, I was just going to attend for fun, to get a vibe for this genre. But, after being offered the chance to review it, I figured why not!  It was a bit of a challenge but here we go.

The night started off a lot better than what I had expected.  The opening DJ's killed it, which has become the norm for all of the SIM shows I've been too!  This time at REV, I didn't have to deal with intolerable drunk people so I could actually get into the music!

EDX went on and I didn't know what to expect!?  I will be the first person to admit, that I do not know much about Deep House but being a fan of all music genres, I try to understand and appreciate them all for the sake of the art.  I will say tho, unfortunately, I wasn't sold.  Since there was so much hype around this show, I had really high hopes and like I thought might happen, happened!  I wasn't immediately hooked.

However, about 45 minutes into his set everything started to kick in for me.  I don't know if it was the environment or if it was the fact that everyone seemed to be having the best time of their lives!  Maybe it was because he started mixing in some tunes that I knew and I can say wholeheartedly, that it had me HOOKED!  EDX did such an amazing job of seamlessly combining all of these different genres into one set all while fully keeping the crowd engaged.  His energy was literally contagious!  I who does not jump, jumped!!

The night went by faster than I could have ever imagined.  I stayed until the last song, which never happens.  Even though we all know that you need to leave early in order to make it out without the massive rush, I broke my own rules and stayed!  Well I totally get now why all of these deep house shows go into the wee hours and I also fully understand why they are packed until the lights come up, the energy and people that go to them...are nothing short of AMAZING!

All in all the night was a brilliant experience filled with new music, new friends, and new memories!  Oh...and I can officially say, I am a big fan of Deep House music now, thanks EDX!!
