Celebrating the 15th anniversary of it's creation this year, Defected Records continues to set the standards high and consistently signs new innovative artists. Saturday night's event at the famous Ministry of Sound club in South East London showed that this label and it's avid followers remain strong and as dedicated as ever. The lineup to this event was pulsating, and the incredible speaker system and lighting at one of the UK's strongest clubs perfectly combined together to produce a majestical house night. Headlining in the main room (The Box) was Secondcity, Oliver $, Nic Fanciulli and the rising prodigy Cristoph who rounded the night off with an electric, energetic and groovy set. Cristoph is also behind Defected's first ever mix album - 'DFTD Volume 01 Mixed by Cristoph.'
Chunky basslines, luscious vocal samples and upbeat kicks resonated throughout Nic Fanciulli's set with the crowd responding energetically throughout the night.
Usually the majority of activity at Ministry is located in the main room, however the Bar area (103) was hectic. Lasers, strobes and spotlights, erratically set off around the area with the shuddering beats of house stalwarts Copyright and one of Defected's biggest touring DJs Franky Rizardo pulsating throughout the club.
Overall an amazing night, proving once again that Defected is here to stay. Keep a look out for more Defected nights in the future.
