As Mysterland USA approaches, it only seems fitting that Verboten present to their loving fans a preview of the artists performing at their expertly curated stage. Over the past few months, the Brooklyn nightclub has been flaunting their impressive lineup with a slew of synth-heavy events. Next friday, May 16, will mark Verboten's final MYSTERYLAND SHOWCASE; with Guti's People Like Us party, featuring Audiofly and Fosky!
Guti, a jack of all trades if you will, began his musical journey as a jazz and rock superstar in Argentina. After creating himself a household name, he decided to twist his musical chops and become a house and techno producer. Since then, he has released on a number of impressive labels including Wolf + Lamb, Cadenza, and Crosstown Rebels. He reigns supreme today as the elite Desolat artist, headlining some of dance music's most prolific clubs and earning praise from the likes of Carl Cox, Loco Dice, and Luciano. Guti's style is described as "curious and creative, fusing electronic music with jazz and Latin roots"; in other words, some feel-good beats that will have you dancing all night long! The artist's "People Like Us" party is a carefully crafted and curated spectacle featuring artists that blend well with his personal style.
Also performing will be Audiofly, who you may know from Flying Circus; the Spanish duo of Luca Saporito & Anthony Middelton boast an experimental style known for dirty, techno-jackin beats that oscillate through underground events around the world. Their mixing style can be described as the physical epitomization (I just made up that word) of a digital deep sea ocean exploration, mixed with a Maraca shaking Cinco De Mayo party -- try and visualize with me, people. Check out their releases and live mixes on Flying Circus, you won't be disappointed.
The final component of next Friday's People Like Us party will be Fosky, who has recently put out a string of releases with Guti; you can be sure a handful of their collaborative tracks will be featured during the night. Fosky, also hailing from Argentina, stepped into the scene merely two years ago. Since his debut, he has performed at Sonar and Miami's Winter Music Conference, as well as released tracks on Damian Lazarus' Crosstown Rebels and Loco Dice's Desolat. His style guarantees a damn good time, featuring jazz influenced deep house melodies. Listen to his and Guti's latest collab, "Hope", below!
