Etnik - Unclassified (feat. Mykki Blanco)

October 1, 2014 -

Derek Kademian

Less than a year has passed since the highly acclaimed debut of Etnik's Neon Daze. Now he's returned with the title track off his second EP Unclassified. Hailing from Germany at only 21 year's old, he takes a different approach on his second OWSLA release, by throwing rap elements into the track. With the help from New York rapper Mykki Blanco, the two bring about a similar feeling that we heard in Rustie and Danny Brown's collaboration from last summer, "Attack." Although, "Unclassified" definitely holds its own, with Etnik's signature techno synth that gurgles and zaps under Mykki Blanco, as raps about cartoons, jokes about white people and self identifying himself as being a "little creepy."

Unclassified is currently available for preorder on iTunes and will be released through OWSLA/Bitclap on 10/20/14.
