On Tuesday, November 6th, E-40 and Too $hort played a short set at Rasputin Music in Berkeley to showcase their new album set, “The History Channel.” The Bay Area rappers brought a large crowd to the store, all supporting their Function Movement. The crowd was made up of a huge variety of people from all parts of the Bay Area. The overwhelming sentiments from those that The Daily Beat interviewed were enthusiasm about the opportunity to see the rappers in the flesh, as well as general Bay Area pride.
The pair performed three songs in total. Everyone enjoyed two of their new beats, ‘Say I’ ft Wiz Khalifa and ‘Slide Through’ ft Tyga, and after Too $hort performed ‘Blow The Whistle’ the crowd was pumped up and yelling for one more song. However, when it became clear there would not be enough time, half of the crowd moved to line up at the back of the story, new albums in hand. E-40 and Too $hort stuck around to sign albums for a few hours, a fact much appreciated by their fans. As the show happened on Election Day, it’s only fitting that multiple fans wee overheard saying, “F--- Romney, F--- Obama, Too $hort for President!”
