Los Angeles is a wonderland for dance music, with stunning venues seemingly at every corner and A-list DJ’s playing headline slots weekend after weekend. This weekend is no exception as Duke Dumont, born Adam Dyment, is poised to throw down a set to remember at one of the most notorious venues in the city.
Adam has a resume that spans the better part of the last decade with hits like “Need U (100%),” “I Got U,” “Won’t Look Back,” and a recent monumental performance at Coachella that packed the Sahara stage to the point where the crowd spilled out of its edges at every side. His most recent release, “The Giver (Reprise),” is a testament to his ability to maintain a signature sound and features a strong, groovy vocal sample of Kim English’s “Time For Love.” The official video dropped on May 21st, and depicts a Jesus-like character going around committing acts of God such as enlarging a woman’s breasts much more than she would have liked, and giving a blind man his vision back just to swoop on his shades.
Exchange LA resident DJ Adam Auburn, who was discovered by Insomniac when he moved out to Los Angeles in 2008, is one of the acts that will be supporting Duke Dumont that night. He started his residency at the club in 2012 and has already shared the stage with world-class artists like Knife Party, TJR, Oliver Heldens, Don Diablo, and more. Matt Black, who goes by the alias Burn Unit, was recently announced on the official EDC Las Vegas lineup and will be closing out the show.
Duke Dumont has been making waves with his latest tracks, and the fans have been coming out in full force to support him. An opportunity to catch him in an intimate setting like that of Exchange LA should wet the appetite of any true dance music connoisseur. If you haven’t snagged your tickets yet, head over the event page immediately; word on the street is that this one is going to sell out. Those of you already going, come find us on the dance floor!
