DNMO might not be a name you're too familiar with yet but there is definitely a lot to say about this 16-year-old producer from United Kingdom. For one, after only being on the scene since 2017, his tracks Broken, Do it Better and Hollywood as well as his remix of Neck and Neck have been picked up by DeadBeats, the record label of DC and Hooks AKA Zeds Dead. Clearly the guys see something great in DNMO because they're bringing him along on the 2018 Deadbeats tour which includes 2 days of Dead Rocks. DNMO will be playing the first day, July 2nd, which is also his USA debut show! But before such a momentous occasion, we were able to get some words from Aiden about how it feels to be playing along side some of his idols and how/why he wants to connect with his fans in the States:
You popped into the industry only last year and now you’re playing alongside some of the biggest names in the game. To what or who do you owe such rapid success?
"It has been a fun year! DeadBeats and the Zeds Dead boys have been huge contributors, They’ve given my music a home. Spotify, Soundcloud and Apple Music really started picking up too this year so I also owe a lot of thanks and gratitude to the people behind those platforms as well."
With Zeds Dead being one of your inspirations, what does being on this DeadBeats tour mean to you?
"Oh man it means the world to me. Five years ago I was 11 years old and sat in school listening to Zeds Dead every day! It’s a really surreal feeling to say the least. I’m extremely excited to showcase everything I’ve been working on behind the scenes and bring it to the states."
What are you expecting to gain from it?
"Really looking forward to seeing so many different places across North America, but mainly I'm hoping to connect with my fans, chat with them, take them for lunch, etc... They are the reason I get to do what I do and I’m stoked to be able to show how much that means to me."
Clearly you started producing at a young age. How did you originally get exposed to it? And what was the program you learned on?
"I just started high school and was introduced to some early Skrillex tunes. They also had garage band on the macs in the music department which was cool to play around with. I was really interested and decided to build a computer with some scrap parts I could get my hands on and download Ableton Live. I still use that software to this day!"
We loved watching your food reviews on instagram. Especially the pizza one. Ever had pineapple on your pizza? What’re your thoughts on the seemingly controversial matter?
"Haha im glad you like it. It's something I’d definitely be down to try more. Between you and me I actually just opened my mind to trying chicken on pizza and it was amazing. Thinking of taking the big step to see what all the talks about with the whole pineapple situation."
Fill us in on the origin of the name DNMO. How did it come to life?
"It comes from my real name. aiDeN MOrgan. In hindsight I should have probably chosen a name easier to pronounce..."
What can we expect from you for the rest of 2018?
"I'm working on my EP right now, something I’ve held off from for a while but I definitely feel like the timing is right. And of course, shows. lots of shows :)"
