Traditionally known for his wild antics on social media and even craziers songs, one of our favorites Dillon Francis kept us guessing with his latest release "Without You", a collaboration with Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs that showed the more heartfelt side of the Los Angeles based producer. Yesterday, Mad Decent released a remix EP for the very same single showing that there are always more than one way to drop a beat.
The first track on the EP is Dillon Francis' own remix, entitled "The Rebirth", which he jokingly stated on social media as a "big ass roomy remix. Cue fireworks. Cue Tiesto. Cue girls crying. Cue mainstage." Track 2 is a collaboration from Doctor P & Flux Pavilion, two dubstep titans that give the track an aggressive workover, handling some serious wub. Following that is a more redux version of the song by Treasure Fingers, who dips into the future disco realm with some soothing melodies and basslines. From there, we receive an electro-step reimagining from Henry Fong (my personal favorite), a trap edit by Torro Torro, a complete deconstruction by Hayden James (some serious funk, a close second for favorite), and lastly a deep/nu-house rework by Low Steppa. All remixes are worth two ears and full attention, for the all capture the emotion in their own way. So get to listening, and if you like the EP, grab it on iTunes!
