Raul Facio’s two -track EP, ‘Event Horizon’ featuring esoteric tracks ‘Event Horizon’ and ‘Stranged’ released early March, under Desert Hearts Black label. The EP’s dark and dense ambiance entangles listeners into a mysterious void filled with subtle kicks.

‘Event Horizon’ loops listeners into what feels like a pitch-black crevasse, ushering a distant sensation- spiraling into an abstract that is greeted by faint vocals. Staunch kicks kindly rustle the baseline, grasping the listener into that profound warehouse sound. Simultaneously, ‘Stranged’ encompasses a vast melody, acquainted by stabs that tote echoes with ease. Both tracks parade to show the array of talents that Facio has.

“The title track Event Horizon is a something I’d imagine hearing in a small dark warehouse and that was the exact idea I had in mind when making it,” Facio said. “I think it’s important to know or to at least have an idea of the type of setting you want the music to be heard in. For me it helps a lot with my workflow. Stranged is actually about four years old and that’s what I love about it, even though I made that long ago, I’ve gotten some great reactions from it. ”

The 22-year old from Las Cruces, New Mexico connected with Desert Hearts founder and Desert Hearts Black label honcho Marbs through Instagram over a year ago. “He mentioned it would be great to have me on the Desert Hearts Black label and I immediately sent him a pair of tracks I thought would fit the labels sound nicely. A couple of days later he and the rest of the DHB team decided it would make for a good release,” Facio said. “It was very exciting as I’ve been a fan of Desert Hearts for a while but never thought my sound would fit the label until they announced Desert Hearts Black of course.”

Event Horizon’s musical amplitude suits the heavy dimensions of techno that Desert Hearts Black label caters to. Listen to Event Horizon HERE.
