Delayed Event Review: Another Party Halloween Edition

November 27, 2013 -

Firstly may I just start by apologizing for the lateness of this review. A number of factors have come up in the past few weeks making it very hard for me to have time to post. Now that everything has cleared up I am going to be back to my usual posting. Apologies.

On November the 1st, Another party took over Pulse in London to throw their 2013 Halloween night. After the incredible production of Sven Vath back in October they were going to have to put in a lot of effort to top their previous event. I can with absolute certainty that they did. Another Party showed London yet again how to party!

Upon arriving at 12 I found myself thinking that the energy inside Pulse wasn't quite what it had been during Sven Vath. By 12 at Sven's event, Pulse would have been buzzing with people, whereas before me at the Halloween event it seemed eerily quiet. This was not long lasted. By half way through Tevo Howard's set the entire venue was filled with the horrors and terrors of Halloween costumes. Almost every single person who turned up had managed to mutate their faces into creatures of the night in true Halloween spirit!

Next up were Portable/Bodycode, who with a live performance for two hours, built up a surge of energy throughout his set with his his deeply syncopated brand of electronic dance music. A guy Called Gerald then took to the decks providing us with yet another amazing live performance. With his well known refusal to stick to any form of genre, Gerald Simpson took us on a journey through his early influences in acid house and continuing on into his incredible techno territory.

As the early hours of morning began to creep into reality Boris Werner took over and showed us what the true meaning of bass is. With some incredible thick basslines accompanies with some surprisingly soft melodies Boris brought everyone back to reality in the penultimate 2 hours of the night.  James Manero then completed the night in style with some lovely techno for the few who were still remaining. A thoroughly great night out and a huge recommendation for the next event on Friday 13th December with  Radio Slave, Clockwork & James Manero. If you can't wait till then why not relive a bit of November 1st......Enjoy!
