Got a seasonal party coming up? Wanna get out of cooking something for it? Like to Drink?
Me too. Let's get down to business with this easy, inexpensive, and deliciously intoxicating cold-weather wine cocktail. For this recipe, you'll need:
2 cups of apple cider
1 bottle of spanish red wine
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup spiced rum (Daily Beat suggests Sailor Jerry or Captain Morgan)
1/3 cup sugar
4 cinnamon sticks (2 for cider, 2 for garnish)
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon allspice
Combine cider, sugar, cloves, allspice, and 2 cinnamon sticks in a medium saucepan.
Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat, then take it off the burner and allow it to cool.
Strain the spiced cider mix.
Mix cider mix with the wine, rum, and orange juice.
Chop up the apple and remainder of the orange and add it to the sangria, garnish with cinnamon sticks.
Serve over ice
