Daft Punk to Release Fourth Studio Album on Sony/Columbia - Expected Release Spring '13

January 26, 2013 -

The news of the evening comes from France’s second largest newspaper publication, 'Le Parisien' where Daft Punk will leave EMI for Sony's subsidiary, Columbia Records. They are reporting, via sources, that Daft Punk‘s fourth album will be signed to Sony with an expected release in the spring of 2013.

The news was broken by one half of Daft Punk, Guy-Manuel de Homem Christo, when he openly told friends at Kavinsky’s launch party for his new album. This will begin Daft Punk's first album release on Sony after the previous three were signed to EMI. Despite the fact that Daft Punk's 'Around the World' was featured in this year's NBA 2K13, this will mark their first official release since 2005′s Human After All.
