In it’s 5th year, IgNight is excited to offer over 200 Flow Arts classes (beginner through advanced) including Fire Arts, Yoga, Meditation, Archery, Circus, Aerial Arts, Hooping/Staff/Poi, Burlesque, Hula Dance, Martial Arts, Astronomy Exhibits, Juggling, Cyr Wheel, Magic, Astronomy Exhibits, and a dynamic night time Fire Spinning Circle with live FLOW music and DJs. Tickets include unlimited access to all classes throughout the entire weekend. All of this at a Wellness Center built by Frank Lloyd Wright, creating the perfect environment where access to mind expanding knowledge will keep you in the Flow.

What is Flow? Flow Arts encompasses moving and meditative art forms such as circus arts and aerial acrobatics, archery, martial arts, dance, yoga and meditation, and fire dancing. Commonly rigged with wicks and lit on fire, flow tools can include hoops, poi, fans, staves, torches, wands and swords – they can also be illuminated with LED lights for beautiful effect. Beginning Friday and ending Sunday, more than 200 Flow Arts classes will go on during the daytime with over 100 world class teachers offering their expertise. A nightly spin jam session accompanied by live music and DJs allows students to practice and develop their muscle memory.

Since IgNight’s inception in 2012, the event has sold out and it is still the only event of its kind and size in southern California. Known as a warm and inviting community, the rapidly growing contingent of local flow artists transforms it into an epicenter of growth, play, and magic. Said Michael Engel, lead organizer for IgNight…

It’s for everyone to come and learn.  Ultimately, it’s an exercise in community building and community building is always a positive thing.

IgNight Flow Retreat’s location is the Joshua Tree Retreat Center, the oldest and largest center of its kind in the country with buildings designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and his son Lloyd Wright. The retreat center’s spaces offer air-conditioned rooms, a swimming pool and Jacuzzi, and shaded meditation nooks to relax and reflect. Many participants also choose to sleep under the stars in the property’s ample camping space. The vast, clear desert skies offer ideal stargazing and the event’s Black Rock Observatory and will be giving nightly lectures and telescope demonstrations. IgNight’s organizers enforce a strict Leave No Trace policy, meant to leave the location cleaner than before the event happened. IgNight is an alcohol and drug-free event. This is vital to the event’s mission of providing a safe environment to learn, play and grow in the flow arts. IgNight works closely alongside The San Bernardino Fire Department to make this, the safest event possible. All participants must attend a mandatory fire safety workshop, which grants them access to the fire spinning area.

And of course no flow would be complete with out music and providing the soundtrack to the grand fire circle are Jacques The Ripper, KerryBoBerry, Liquid Giraffe, Ken Satellite, Neuromancer, DJ Jonny Quest, King Felix and a Live musical performance by Tropo
