Hello everyone and welcome to another captivating blog post on Daily-Beat. Today we are listening to Chicane, also known as Nick Bracegirlde. According to the bio on the Chicane website, Bracegirlde "likes to snowboard and drive insanely fast." Apparently, this dude is as cool as his music.
Chicane has produced some of the most iconic trance songs in the last decade. He released a new album this year and I think it is awesome. This is a guy who is not stuck in the past. He welcomes the recent transformation that electronic music has gone through. He is truly talented because he is able to adapt to the new norms of electronic music culture. Chicane adapts, but he does not conform. His music is still completely original.
This is the title track from his newest album "Thousand Mile Stare". Most of the songs in the album are awesome, but there are a few that are slower and don't follow traditional house rhythms. I'm not too big on those songs, but maybe I will grow to love them. The reason that guys like Chicane are important is because they preserve the classic aspects of 90s and 2000s house music. Chicane is channeling the influences of 2000s and 90s house music. I wish we would see more of that, rather than abandonment of what has proven to make this genre pure, funky, and fun.
