Daily Beat Presents: An Interview with Robert DeLong

By Brett Blackman on September 18, 2013
Two weeks ago I had the pleasure of sitting down with the charismatic one-man show, Robert DeLong right after his set at Budweiser's Made in America. In between the fans getting their faces painted in the Robert Delong style, the Seattle native blew me away during his set with his setup and and performance. Sure I've seen his set-up before on the Internet, but to see it in person is something else when someone is jamming with an upwards of 10 gizmos, gadgets and instruments, including: drums, a wii and multiple video game controllers, a launchpad, and who knows what else like tambourines and rain sticks. Most known for his songs, "Happy" and "Global Concepts," he also recently did an official remix for Bruno Mars's, "Treasure." So when I sat down to find out how he excited was to have finished his 4 year long project and debut album, "Just Movement" finally in between touring for Lollapalooza, Coachella, SXSW, Governor’s Ball, Sasquatch! and Ultra Music Festival, just to name a few this year, still he was planned to finish out a few more shows on the east coast, as well as having Treasure Island Music Festival and Voodoo Music + Arts Experience in the upcoming months. For evrything else Robert DeLong, visit RobertDeLong.com amd pick up his album, "Just Movement," here, it's definitely worth the buy! Without further ado, enjoy!

From learning about his transition from golfing to DJing, the story behind "Ode to Oi" and aussie bounce, the way he prepares for sets and what we should expect from him the future to name a few, enjoy our interview with TJR, because he is certainly here to stay.

Tiesto - Take Me (Steven Fokas & Giuliano Presta Remix) [FREE DOWNLOAD]

By Ryan Farber on September 16, 2013
It's time for some more Philadelphia local talent. Introducing Steven Fokas & Giuliano Presta, and new production duo with a taste for dark trance. Holding a residency at Rumor, G.Presta is known for his diverse sets, consistently holding down the main room when opening for DJs of international caliber, such as TritonalAshley Wallbridge, Mark KnightDubVision, and more. Teaming up with production partner Steven Fokas, these two took their shot at the remix of Tiesto's "Take Me", and let me tell you guys that I really wish this had made it to the competition held on Beatport. This track is straight heavy. Complete with punchy synth stabs and euphoric atmospheric pads, this track collects all the originality of the track and fuses it nicely with something that would fit in an arena for thousands. This track is available for free download, so I suggest that you scoop it immediately. 'Til next time!
