Busta Rhymes x Janet Jackson - What Its Gonna Be? (Kaytranada Edition)

Vibes, vibes and more good vibes. Kaytranada, the sensation from Montreal, has dropped his remix to the 1999 Busta Rhymes and Janet Jackson classic 'What Its Gonna Be?' This late '90s international hit was definitely a bold move for the Montreal producer to take on, but his funky nu-disco vibe certainly impressed us here at Daily Beat. Sure the smooth synth vibe behind a groovy bass line definitely caught my attention, but it was the subtle vocals that brought me back to the soul-inspired days of the R&B greats. Just as The Notorious B.I.G. dropped the classic "Mo Money Mo Problems" with signature soulful sounds and an instrumental containing a sample of the Diana Ross song "I'm Coming Out", Kaytranada attempts to do the same in what I would consider a throwback styled remix. So don't ask why I started listening to late '90s Biggie tracks like "Mo Money Mo Problems" and Puff Daddy/Faith Evans/112 - I'll Be Missing You, but it definitely put a smile on my face. Hope Kaytranada does the same! Enjoy!
