BUKU Announces Most Diverse Lineup Yet for 2019

BUKU Music + Arts Project has always held its fingers to the pulse of underground music. The New Orleans-based festival has been know  to bypass safe bookings for more experimental talent. With no allegiances to genre or label, the event often embraces up-and-comers on the verge of breaking through; you can look back to any BUKU undercard from years past and find a current star. Now operating with the fiscal backing of music industry powerhouse AEG, BUKU 2019 seems to be staying true to its roots. The 2019 lineup was officially released yesterday, and we are excited to see how the once niche festival has used their growth to cater to fan's rapidly shifting tastes.

From the jump, BUKU 2019 is an ode to the yearning of electronic fans from across all sub genres. The return of legendary duo Dog Blood (Skrillex and Boys Noize, for the new kids here) is enough for any dubstep fan to score a ticket down to the Big Easy. G Jones and Liquid Stranger provide the experimental dub the East Coast loves, while bookings like Mersiv and sfam represent the next generation of wobbles. Getter, Papadosio, Griz, and RL Grime will each bring their unique sound to the BUKU lineup as well.

One of the major changes in BUKU 2019 is the presence of heavyweight house artists. In a year thats been major for the genre (see: Desert Hearts, D.B.C.), BUKU is bringing out Claude VonStroke himself. In many ways the godfather of house's revitalization over the past decade, Claude is sure to bring a new energy to the festival. Fan favorite Paul Fisher will be joining his Dirtybird brethren for the festivities.

All of the aforementioned artists will be joined by additional headliners who rarely get left at the bottom of a press release. Alongside the heavyweights listed above will be the likes of Excision, A$AP Rocky, Griz, Louis the Child, Death Grips, Tokimonsta, and We Came as Romans. Even the most novice festival goer can attest to the unique assortment of talent assembled for BUKU 2019. Few of these artists share the same genre, or even a similar sound.  However, each seems to hold a place in the hearts of BUKU's core fan base. In many ways, the BUKU 2019 lineup is a testament to the authenticity of the New Orleans music scene. While fans from all over the world are dedicated to their scene, very rarely have we witnessed a scene so dedicated to its fans. Loyalty presale tickets for BUKU 2019 are available to return attendees, with tier 2 soon to be available to the public. See y'all in the Big Easy.
