So although I tend to stay away from the Top 40 there are always a few songs that manage to reach my ears despite trying to stay away from that mainstream scene. In recent weeks the song that managed to climb through that gap for me was the release from Bruno Mars of 'Locked out of Heaven'. Immediately after hearing this production, I felt that its heavy guitar strumming and the booming grunt it includes as its hook would make for an incredible electro remix. R3hab went about trying to accomplish this and although I usually love R3hab's productions and remixes, due to their incredible dirty drops, I feel that he didn't quite hit the spot. Progressive house producers Sultan and Ned Shepard truly deliver everything I was looking for in a remix of this number one hit. The build up and drop are of just the right quantity to maintain the original melody and feeling of the original but at the same time give it that extra push to make it into that deeply desired club banger. Unfortunately due to the release of this being on January 21, this coming Monday, we are only able to access the preview. For all you American lovers of Sultan + Ned Shepard, you can catch the two at Rumor Nightclub in Philadelphia, on Friday January 25. For all you other fans of the duo I'm afraid we're just going to have to make do with the preview for now and the release on Monday. Lemme know what you guys think of this. Enjoy!
