Southern California is in for a treat this Thursday, January 22nd, as New York-based producer Branchez is stopping by to headline the next installment of White Rabbit Group’s impressive Havoc Thursdays at the Yost Theatre in Santa Ana. If you aren’t local to Orange Country, you might not be paying close attention to this weekly residency at the famed concert venue, but it might be time to start listening up. White Rabbit has already put on successful shows featuring Buygore, the Panda Funk boys, and most recently, Gent & Jawns. With momentum surely building, this Thursday is poised to be one of the most fun events yet.
Branchez just finished playing HARD’s Holy Ship, and buzz about his unique sound is building on the West Coast. For fans of smooth, soulful, Jersey-style electronic music with a nice serving of trap, this guy produces music with complete disregard for genre boundaries in the best way possible. Not to mention he’s already had his own Diplo & Friends mix, has toured with Skrillex, and has remixed household names like Rihanna and Mat Zo. If you’re like me and are looking for some fresh new sounds in an oversaturated market of EDM, do not allow yourself to miss this show.
Branchez will be supported by a solid lineup of local talent: come early and catch sets by Keef Koded, K.O.MODO, and Pollo. This show is going to be a total college takeover, as party buses from Cal Poly Pomona are already filling up. Tickets are available here, but don’t hesitate! We’ll see you there.
