Fresh off of "New Jam," the synergy was too good between Ayotemi and Foolie $urfin that they couldn't stop creating together. Now, Bonsai Collective's Foolie $urfin will be producing the Laurel rapper's debut album, Indigo Rap. And to kick things off, Ayotemi has just dropped the first single from the album, "peon" via Good Society.

Ayotemi gives us a sneak peek into his mind while writing the track, saying, “My royalty came with my perspective shift. When I began to love myself and honor my authentic power I was able to raise my power level. That’s what I want to show youth like me. You are worthy, you are loved, and you are chosen! Don’t doubt yourself, your ideas, or your gifts. ‘Stay Grounded, Stay Golden. Mountains and rivers will move over you.’ This line means that which seems immovable will move. That which seems impossible will happen. Everything will morph to fit the mold of your movement. When you are in alignment with your inner indigo. Grounded and golden.”

Stay Grounded, Stay Golden. Mountains and rivers will move over you.

Ayotemi, "peon"

"peon" is a catchy tune that combines Foolie $urfin's signature soulful production and Ayotemi's empowering bars. Through his powerful and poignant words, the rapper continues to send a message to the youth to embrace your inner strength and you'll manifest success, in whichever way you may define that.

With a buttery smooth flow and a saccharinely motivating message, the single is a strong start to Ayotemi's debut Indigo Rap album and we can't wait for everyone to hear the whole record. Listen to it below or on your preferred streaming service here.
