If you have at all had your eyes on the club music scene, Athletixx has no doubt come across your radar. The mini-collective formed just under two years ago, resulting from the collaborations of four Fool’s Gold Records artists – Hoodboi, Kittens, Falcons, and Promnite. The music-clique has executed the development of their brand flawlessly, setting an example for what operations like Athletixx should be. The subsequent exhibitions of the artistic partnership have come primarily in the form of fiery mixtapes and live performance showcases, until now. This week saw the release of the first official Athletixx single – PNTHR.

The wobbly lead and crisp percussive arrangement works together to produce one pristinely syncopated club jam. Wonky seems an appropriate description of the soundscapes by PNTHR’s wildly colorful palette. The record definitely does well in delivering an expressive culmination of the brilliant Athletixx movement thus far.

PNTHR

Though already having established a solid presence in the scene, the release of this debut single shows that the Athletixx crew is just getting things started. We cannot wait to see what the future has in store from these club music tastemakers.
