2014 is the year of the Disco Revival. With big names like Daft Punk selling albums full of funk, soul and disco influence, the lush sounds of 70's & 80's are ingraining themselves in electronic music today. Taking their own shiny sound across the country ASTR start their Crystal Arcade Tour with The Knocks this week and will be stopping by the Bowery Ballroom in NYC this Wednesday and Underground Arts in Philadelphia this Thursday. There is no denying the distinctly retro sound in ASTR's latest Varsity EP, like a Miami Vice soundtrack with too much swag. Touring alongside Neon Gold's The Knocks ASTR will be bringing their party to 14 different cities this summer.
